The doctors at Pentz Health Services use a wide variety of LOW FORCE adjustment techniques to help their patients to regain and maintain their health.
LOW FORCE ADJUSTMENTS:
Each of these LOW FORCE adjusting techniques works well for different conditions and in different patients. The Doctor makes the right choice for each patient based on their specific needs.
ATLAS ORTHOGONAL (AO):
One of the most gentle and accurate methods of adjustments is the Atlas Orthogonal (AO) technique. It concentrates on precision alignment of the Upper Cervical Atlas Bone at the bottom of your skull / top of your spine. By combining both pre and post X-Ray analysis by the Doctor, with exacting adjustment based on 3 different axis calculation, the Atlas bone can be adjusted into precise alignment with less than 5 pounds force, just like a light tap on your neck. Results have shown that using the Atlas Orthogonal technique to adjust the Atlas into place can bring many health improvements to the patient.
ACTIVATOR: The Activator technique is another very LOW FORCE and gentle means of adjusting the patient with out causing any unnecessary strain or stress on the patients body. The Activator allows for direct adjustment to the place required with a preset amount of gentle force that is always in control.
SOT (SACRO OCCIPITAL TECHNIQUE): The SOT technique is another gentle technique that can be used, as it effectively lets the patients own body and the force of GRAVITY make the adjustment. Consisting of exact placements of a couple of leverage blocks by the Doctor, the patient then just gently rests for 10-15 minutes while GRAVITY realigns the spine into place with no sudden or forceful action at all.
FLEXION DISTRACTION: Used for patients with LOW BACK problems, this table automatically helps stretch the lower back muscles gently.
OTHER TECHNIQUES AVAILABLE: Our doctors use other adjusting techniques when they feel they are appropriate for that particular patient’s condition to return them to HEALTH. They use various diversified techniques which consist of the traditional hands-on types of adjusting most people associate with Chiropractic and has great success with them.
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE (ART): ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
How do overuse conditions occur? Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in three important ways:
Acute conditions (pulls, tears, collisions, etc), accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma) and not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia). Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numbness, and weakness.
What is an ART treatment like?
Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols - over 500 specific moves - are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach.
ADDITIONAL THERAPIES: In order to make sure each patient can receive the most out of their treatment some times they benefit from additional therapies. The Doctor only recommends additional therapies if it will truly enhance that patients particular recovery and return to HEALTH. The following are a list of the various THERAPIES used by Dr. Debra Pentz and Dr. Dan Froerer:
• Heat / Cryo (cold) packs Therapy
• Electrical Muscle Stimulation Therapy
• Ultra Sound Therapy
• G5 Massager Therapy
• Myofascial release / Trigger Point Therapy
• Intersegmental Traction (Roller Table) Therapy
Other Services Offered
NUTRITION COUNSELING AVAILABLE: Dr. Debra Pentz performs a complete survey and nutritional analysis of your situation and can recommend the proper supplements to improve and maintain your HEALTH. Call for a consultation at (480) 833-0302.
RADIOLOGY / X-RAYS: To make sure the patient is getting the best possible and correct treatment sometimes it is necessary for the Doctor to be able to review X-Rays to pinpoint the condition. Therefore, Dr. Debra Pentz and Dr. Dan Froerer have a complete X-RAY room facility on-site in their office, and with this equipment they can take ALL the various X-Ray views required to completely diagnose and treat a problem.
A key part of the Atlas Orthogonal technique procedure utilizes both pre and post X-rays to precisely adjust and verify the adjustment of the Atlas Bone. To insure the fast and timely turnaround of the X-Rays the Doctors have a full X-ray processing Dark Room on-site and develop their own X-rays right after they take them. Thus, the patient gets full service, same day treatment all in one office visit. |
